Samuel Bough

When I visited the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh, in the Scottish painters section I found some sea landscapes that caught my attention because of their incredibly good technique and their ability to capture the movement and power of the sea. As I kept walking I found some more landscapes which had really nice textures and atmospheric effects in them, I checked the name and they were from the same painter.

Samuel Bough (1822–1878) was a self-taught English painter who spent a big part of his career in Scotland, having his most prolific time while living in Edinburgh.
